Meet the Team!

This is a page for us to share art and resources (and more) about South Asian asexuals.

Quick Disclaimer: We speak from our own experiences and asexuality isn’t a monolith so we cant speak for everyone.

Hi! I’m Bhavya (she/her). I’m a cis asexual bi (or pan) romantic. I’m a Telugu Hindu Indian. I was born in India but grew up in the States. I’m a  graphic designer (with a UX/UI/Web specialty). A fun fact about me is that I have three tattoos (so far) and plan for more! I’m also a huge nerd! I’m the graphic designer/artist for this page so that’s the kind of content you’ll see from me. And maybe some other non art/design related stuff.

My name is Chandana (she/her/hers). I am a cis heteroromantic asexual. I’m a Telugu Hindu Indian-American. I immigrated out here when I was 1 and grew up in the SF Bay Area. I  work in the biotech industry where I’m trying my best to contribute to research for a more a sustainable future. I’m really excited to be a part of this team and to help shed some light on what it’s like being a first gen brown girl navigating asexuality along with other parts of our lives. My hope is that you’ll realize you’re not alone and that you’ll have this page as a safe space where there’s other just like you.

Howdy yall! My name is Meera (she/her/hers). I am a Bangladeshi American Muslim and I am a cis aromantic asexual female. I am a native Floridian, but I hop around to and from New York. I recently graduated with my Masters in Psychology, and I hope to pursue a doctorate in Counseling or Public Health. During my free time, I love catching up on anime, reading, and hibernating. I love listening to Latinx Pop and Reggaeton and classical Bollywood songs. I am super excited to be a part of this wonderful team! We hope to create a safe space for you to navigate asexuality and aromanticism through an intersectional Desi lens. Thank you so much for being here, and welcome!

Heyyo! My name is Rakshitha (she/her). I am cis asexual panromantic. I am a Tamil Hindu Indian born in India and moved to California when I was little (West Coast gang!). I graduated with a degree in Psychology and now work in research. I am going back to school to earn my Masters and then hopefully my PhD! Fun fact about me is I am a huge comic book and anime geek! And I love to cosplay! I am always looking for ace representation in any form of media I engage in. The kind of content you can expect from me would be discussions of intersectionality and academia in relation to the ace/aro spectrum among other things such as recommendations for books, movies, tv shows!

Hello everyone! I’m Shouni (she/her) and I’m a cis bi/panromantic asexual. I am a Muslim Bangladeshi-American  (born in Bangladesh and have been in the United States since I was eight). I am currently getting my undergrad in computer science and am really looking forward to being done with school soon. I love to read, write, code and then complain about my code not working. I’m also a huge Disney nerd, anime watcher, fantasy lover and a fan of old Bollywood songs . The kind of posts you can expect from me is content about the intersectionality of being desi, religious and queer as well as ace/queer rep in media. And of course lots of ace memes 🙂

I am Vipasha Jain (she/her), a biromantic asexual cis-woman. I am a North Indian, sorta-Hindi-speaking Jain who loves the beauty industry and engineering. For me, every look has a story or a message. Every art piece tells you something about me I can’t express in words. My goal here is to tell you as many stories as possible, grow with you, and put out interesting content. For a long time, I had not focused on my ace side because I did not want it to become everything I am. I wanted it to be a pillar (@queereye for the analogy). It still is a pillar because I am more than my sexuality, but this me actually owning that pillar. This is me taking the time to actually learn more about myself. So, thank you for being on this journey of self-discovery and self-love with me.
